The Young Scientists Club Wins Dr. Toy 2002 100 Best
Children’s Products Award and National Parenting Center Seal
of Approval
Unique curriculum-based
science kits for children ages 4 to 12 offer hours of fun
and learning and help parents supplement their child’s
classroom education
The
Young Scientists Club, creators of a unique curriculum-based
science program for children ages 4 to 12, announced that it
has received the Dr. Toy 100 Best Children’s Products Award
and National Parenting Center Seal of Approval. The
company’s carefully designed science kits were chosen from
lists of over 2,000 other children’s products for their
ability to stimulate and challenge children as they discover
the world of science with their friends and family at home.
“These
awards are tremendous validation of the work that has gone
into developing our kits, our Web site and our service,”
said Esther Novis, president and founder of The Young
Scientists Club. “As a mother of five young children, I
know that parents are looking for new ways to help their
kids learn. Therefore, I have tried to build a business
that not only offers children a source of entertainment, but
also exposes them to a unique learning experience and a
chance to get excited about discovering the world of
science.”
The
Young Scientists Club offers subscribers over 36 educational
science kits whose focus ranges from constructing a working
volcano using papier-mâché and simple chemicals to building
one’s own compass. Each kit ensures that children learn by
using different parts of their brains simultaneously during
an experiment through reading, writing, and doing simple
math calculations.
“We
found that The Young Scientists Club offers children a fun
and engaging experience while they learn more about various
important scientific principles,” said Dr. Stevanne Auerbach,
founder of www.drtoy.com and director of the Institute for
Childhood Resources. “At Dr. Toy's Guide we look for the
best new products that provide a strong combination of
learning and ongoing entertainment. In our eyes The Young
Scientists Club’s science kits, combined with their
interactive site, offer a great product for parents and
children to learn, participate together and have fun. ”
Dr.
Auerbach (“Dr. Toy”) runs a well-respected site (www.drtoy.com)
