The Young Scientists Club – Back to School
View PDF Esther Novis, a mother of five and a former Harvard-trained biologist, started The Young Scientists Club a decade ago as a summer science camp for her then 5-year-old son. Friends from other parts of the country told Novis they felt cheated that their kids couldn’t go, so she naturally packaged the experiments and sent them off. The idea for a science subscription service was born! The subscription kits are now mailed monthly to thousands of children around the world and the company’s retail kits are sold in hundreds of specialty stores.

Garden Science Made Easy and Fun for Children
View PDF As the cold weather started fading away and signs of spring began popping up everywhere, my family and I began to explore some of the changes occurring in nature right in our own backyard. As the mother of two small children I was excited to help motivate a growing sense of curiosity in them. I was thrilled to introduce them to their first taste of scientific discovery through the Science On a Gardening Adventure Kit, made by The Young Scientist Club. After helping me to plant seeds and tend to our garden last year, my four-year-old was very excited to begin his own garden, and couldn’t wait to get started with the kit’s experiments.
